Plenty of characters, multiple places to eat, carnival games, rides, helicopter rides, go-carts, and yes casinos. One of the greatest places in the world to people watch, in my opinion. Overall, I thought the 'World Famous' Boardwalk was trashy and nothing that I would recommend to anybody or visit again.
I settled for one near the Steel Pier because it had a decent view and the menu looked decent.Īt night I walked to the Steel Pier and it is nothing more than a few rides and carnival games and had no cool vibe or energy to it. The storefronts are not appealing (two of them were boarded up due to a fire) and the restaurant selection was very minimal. Yes, it is legal but I still don't want to inhale somebody's exhaust. When you walk the Boardwalk, you are constantly absorbing the stench of Marijuana smoke. If you sit on a bench, you are either surrounded by squawking seagulls or approached by the countless homeless people asking for something. I walked between the far East end to Florida Avenue multiple times and different times of the day and found nothing inviting or welcoming about it. I was in Atlantic City the week after the 4th of July staying at a nearby hotel and for that time of year, I expected to see an energetic, vibrant and welcoming scene.
